Damocles

To achieve the softness of handle, reduction in primary fibres and lift in fleece weights demanded by our fibre production objectives, Bumble Hill have sourced males bred from the Haldane “Big Six” Accoyo males and perhaps the most important Accoyo macho outside Peru, Pperuvian Caligula.  Accoyo America Damocles (a full Accoyo Caligula son) has been one of three stud males working in our stud for the past two years.  The other two are Starline Sputnik (a compact Highlander son and full Peruvian dam – say no more!) and the much admired Benleigh Legend (sired by Benleigh Bellisimo and out of a Benleigh Brigantine sired dam, a daughter of Purrumbete Sweet Freedom).

The two younger males have been appraised and tested by Dr. Jim Watts with superior test results.  The progeny of all three males are true to type and demonstrate the most desirable characteristics of their sires.

To ensure the continuing improvement in our herd and further diversify the bloodlines, we recently purchased a young male (Halcyon Stars and Stripes)bred by Halcyon Alpaca stud out of their extremely dense Peruvian dam, Sunbeam and their Peruvian macho Alloro. At an early age he is exhibiting attributes which will further enhance the strengths of our current machos.
