Bumble Hill Alpacas are focussing on the whole alpaca fibre chain from breeding to textile production. 

We work directly with premium mills to understand how alpaca fibre must perform in processing and manufacture and what attributes the high end marketplace expects from this luxury fibre.  And have honed our fibre performance accordingly.

We work in partnership with top Australasian natural fibre entities to advance both our stud and the alpaca industry’s interests.

We utilize the most advanced breeding/fibre production technologies available – SRS®, AGE and our in house data base incorporating 11 years of measurement and testing. One of the major “tools” in our breeding management toolbox has been the application of the SRS ® selection criteria which we have been applying to stud male and stud hembra selection for the past 7 years.

We have relocated the huacaya herd to a cooler, dryer climate to further stimulate follicle formation to achieve higher fleece weights and amenity for our livestock.
